Oversize blazers are a fashionable wonder weapon. We reveal how you can combine the part for every occasion and have outfit ideas with which you are just always perfectly dressed on the road.
Oversize blazers are not a trend – they are a fashion wonder weapon, and have been for years – oh, what do we say: Decades. Princess Diana, for example, knew how to use blazers very skillfully – and many of her outfits are totally trendy again in 2020 (or rather, still are).

Sure, the style and shape of blazers that are trending changes every now and then, but the bottom line is that blazers just always go. One of the all-time favorites are oversize blazers, which are not only a style guarantor but also extremely comfortable. So when it comes to wearing and combining this Jedi-esque garment, the force is with you anyway, but if you’re still looking for ideas and inspiration, here they come!
Oversize blazer: wearable with any figure?
Oversize blazers flatter every figure – the be-all and end-all is simply to find a blazer that fits perfectly. Here, it’s well worth taking the trip to the alteration tailor of your choice. The idea is, of course, that the piece is not figure-hugging. However, this does not mean that cut and size do not matter. Above all, “oversize” in blazers in many cases does not simply mean “too big” – depending on your figure, even an oversize blazer should be cut close to your figure (not emphasized, but also not much too wide) in certain places. For example, if you have broad shoulders and don’t want to make them even broader, the blazer should not be too overcut at the shoulders.
Of course, we don’t want to stop you from browsing through your boyfriend’s closet or the men’s department – go for it! Ultimately, the same applies to oversize blazers as elsewhere: try it on and try it out, is the be-all and end-all.
This is how we prefer to combine oversize blazers in 2020
The beauty of oversize blazers is that we can actually wear them with anything. Even a jeans and t-shirt combination can be easily pimped with a cool blazer. But there is of course more – for example…
Oversize blazer + waist belt
Regardless of the rest of the outfit: waist belts are a perfect complement to the oversize blazer because through them we form an hourglass silhouette even with the non-figure-hugging blazer and do not get lost in the outfit.

Oversize blazer as a dress
Well, we told you so: oversize blazers are a miracle weapon – they can also be transformed (if they’re long enough) into an elegant mini dress in no time.
Shorts, short dresses and skirts love oversize blazers
Shorts, short dresses and short skirts are many things – but rather not serious and suitable for any occasion. However, if we wear an oversize blazer over them, things look quite different – much more dressed up.

Feminine or yet masculine: This is how we combine oversize blazers especially stylishly
Masculine oversize blazers with strong shoulders can be combined fantastically with pleated pants, especially if the latter are equipped with a paper bag waistband and are high-waisted.
Classic-elegant: pencil skirt + leather boots + oversize blazer
Pencil skirts in midi length can quickly look a bit stuffy – knee-high leather boots and an oversize blazer make the outfit more casual, but no less elegant.
Oversize blazer + fanny pack
The principle works like the one with the waist belt: however, a fanny pack makes a look with an oversize blazer a touch more hip and unconventional.
Overknees love oversize blazers
Over-the-knee boots often make a look sexy – an oversize blazer is the perfect counterpart to counteract with a bit of casual seriousness and add an interesting break.

Jeans + denim + oversize blazer
A pair of jeans and a denim shirt are always nice in combination, but maybe a bit monotonous. Bet a nice oversize blazer and a pair of exciting sandals will add some spice?
Serious blazer on rocking leather pants
Leather pants are rocking – period. True, but: with an oversize blazer, they can also tell something of wild elegance very quickly and would easily accompany us to the opera with this rocking elegant clash.
Monochrome outfit + blazer as (color) statement piece
If you want to declare the blazer your statement piece, go for a monochrome outfit in white or black and choose a different colored oversize blazer. The color may pop, but it does not have to, also a beige or camel-colored part provides here for the certain effect.
